About CJ Wilkes Photography

Capturing Your Dance In The Rain is such a thrill and joy to me. Being able to look back on those special times through beautiful artistic imagery makes it a worthwhile challenge.
Learning to Dance in the Rain has been very easy for me. I am drawn to Water & Life! The exciting part for me is to teach you to enjoy your moment in the dance as I capture it from behind my camera.
Looking forward to Capturing Your Dance In The Rain

Coming Together ~ Family

One thing I look forward to each year is taking pictured of P family.  This year I was blessed to take pictures of Michelle’s family as well.  Thank you to the L family for making it an extra special year.

This family made my job as easy as pie.  We had gotten to the location to find the tide was higher than I had EVER seen it.  Usually we would go on the beach and have quite a variety to choose from for pictures.  Not this time.  However, it did not really matter.  These guys were fantastic and did not need tons of places to look great and show the love.

Once again Thank you to Michelle and Cameron for inviting your extended family this year and letting me take your family pictures.

Sometimes family can take a while to get family pictures because as we get older we tend to scatter across country or countries.  In this case they have had family abroad and were able to celebrate all together for the holiday season.

We did some images with Siblings, Siblings with spouses, and also Boys, then girls + mom and dad.  They also had 2 married couples and we were able to get their little budding family shots as well.

I love seeing interaction in couples – especially in those who have spent a lifetime together.  Their children are starting families of their own – and when seeing the L couple I can’t help but think what a GREAT example of love they must have been to their beautiful children.

This one was one of my favorites because you can see the sparkle in her eye as her hubby snuck a peck on the cheek!

Often times when doing large families there tends to actually be more than one session within the one session.  For myself I don’t mind at all because not only do I have a semi large family myself – but was born into one and married into an even larger family.  When we get together and actually do family photos we too all want to get our little family group shots at the same time.   It is an honor and pleasure to be involved with these sorts of ventures!!!

I often will include a Black and White, Color, then a fun artistic in every session.  I find that everyone has different taste and some like a clean edit while others like a great Black and white, then an artistic one makes for some very fun canvases or Metal prints.

Thanks for looking – and for all the sweet comments.  Know that I could not have such awesome pictures without all the amazing people I get to shoot.  Thank you all!
