About CJ Wilkes Photography

Capturing Your Dance In The Rain is such a thrill and joy to me. Being able to look back on those special times through beautiful artistic imagery makes it a worthwhile challenge.
Learning to Dance in the Rain has been very easy for me. I am drawn to Water & Life! The exciting part for me is to teach you to enjoy your moment in the dance as I capture it from behind my camera.
Looking forward to Capturing Your Dance In The Rain

Taking Turns…

Monday, December 13th, 2010

You know – photographers shoot and shoot and shoot, but rarely do we actually get to have our own family pictures taken by someone else.  Well a dear friend of mine who happens to be a FANTASTIC photographer ~ Jessica Lemmons ~ agreed to take our family pictures.  So we exchanged.  I did hers and she did mine.  The cool part is that she lives in the mountains which provided some amazing shooting areas!!!

So here are the images I took of her and her family.  Enjoy.

Any child’s dream – to run free in the open :)

I felt right at home with her family.  They could relate to having 5 kids.  I know there are plenty who have multiple kids but here in Washington you get a whole lot of gawking and comments.  When you run into someone who has been there and just gets it you feel like you are around family!  Such a darling, fun, loving family!

Jessica is not only a great photographer – she is a great MOM too.  It was hard not to get teary eyed around her and her children with all the love you could see in their faces.  It was precious!

Thanks again for the opportunity Jessica.  It was such a pleasure to take all your pictures – and I absolutely adore the ones of our family you took.

Starting the 12 days of Christmas !

Wednesday, December 8th, 2010

There are different beliefs on when to start the 12 days of Christmas.  One is that the first day starts on either the 24th of December or Christmas Day, Another is the 12 days working up to Christmas Eve.   Well I am going to mix it up a tad and start it NOW!  Why?  Well Christmas is a time for family and friends – loved ones.  I feel strongly about that.  Besides my wanting to be with my family and friends…. I have to be honest and say that being a mom of 5 and trying to build and create traditions that last a lifetime will be keeping me ever so busy & I will need to keep my mind focused.  Otherwise I will miss a day or do something to mess up this event I want to share with all of you!!!

Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo without further ado I would like to start our 1st day of Christmas TODAY :)   Yes – Today!!!  That means it will end on the 19th.  So check daily for the newest post!!!  I plan on trying to get it changed by noon Pacific Time each day.

RULES:

1 – Only 3 people will be able to claim the offer each day.  (Sorry, no exceptions.)  So this means if you really want the deal you will have to respond sooner than later.

2 – To get the claim you will need to contact me on my contact form http://www.CJWilkes.com  and pay the $150.00 session fee that is 100% applied to your purchase order in the end.  This reserves your session and claims your prize!

3 – These offers can be combined with bundles and packages – BUT are not to be used with any other specials.

4 – The offers are not redeemable for cash and all sales are final.

5 – All offers need to be redeemed in the year 2011.  You can reserve your date – and again – the sooner the better.  If a date is taken you will need to choose a different date.  First come first serve.

OK… now that that is out of the way here you go :)

Families ~ There is nothing better than family!

This was a special shoot for me.  These children belong to my twins Kindergarten teacher.  It was fun to be the one to take their pictures when she is the one who taught my babies.  What an awesome treat.  They were fun, spunky, and cool as could be!!!

S – was fun and kept us all smiling and laughing.  He has a great sense of humor and lots of spunk!!!  He had done some modeling as a child and hopes to do so again in the near future.

C – is a fun boy with a big heart.  Just last month on his own he threw a surprise birthday party for his mom and sister.  It was fun to hear him call and invite us to the event.  I felt bad we could not make it due to no vehicle.  Meeting him you could see he had lots of love and respect for his mom.  What a great kid!!!

T is in my Miriam’s grade.  All my children know who she is and think highly of her.  When I met her I could see why.  She was fun, sweet, and a great listener.

All I can really say is that time flies way to quickly – especially when you are having fun.  I had a blast and only wished this shoot would have lasted longer.  It was fun hearing them talk and tease – just having fun!!!  Thanks for the opportunity M family!
